BLACK JACK

Blackjack or 21 as some players call it, is the most frequented game in the casino.

Blackjack is a game that is absolutely necessary to have as many tables as possible when discussing your event based upon its popularity and appeal. Blackjack is a guaranteed money maker for your fundraiser. Also available for Bar Mitzvahs, Birthdays, Corporate Parties and Private Functions.

Blackjack is played with one, two, four, six or eight decks of cards. In multi-deck games the cards are dealt out of a tray which is called a shoe. The objective of the game is to beat the dealer. If your cards total higher than the dealer's cards without going over 21 you win. If your hand or the dealer's hand goes over 21 you "bust". If you bust you automatically lose. If the dealer busts and you don't, you win. The player to the left of the dealer acts firsts. If the player goes over 21 he loses regardless if the dealer busts or not. The dealer deals two cards face up to each player and two to himself, one face down and the other face up.

If your first two cards equal 21 (ACE + FACECARD or 10) you have Blackjack and will win 3 to 2 on your wager. You cannot lose, but if the dealer should also show blackjack then its considered a push. If you don't have blackjack and would like to draw a card tap the table felt when it is your turn the dealer will disperse a card from the shoe and will place it with your cards. You may continue taking cards until you feel you have a high enough total to beat the dealer or you go bust. After all the players at the blackjack table have taken the cards they requested the dealer then exposes his hole card (face down card). If the dealer cards total 16 or less he/she reaches 17 or goes over 21. If the dealer busts or you have a higher total than the dealer without going over 21you win. The payout is even money.

Insurance-is offered by the dealer every time he dealers exposed card is an Ace. This wager must be placed before he/she checks their hole card. The insurance bet is half of what your initial is, you are now betting on the dealer to have blackjack. If the dealer has blackjack you win 2 to 1 on that wager. If the dealer does not have blackjack you lose your insurance bet and play continues.

Double Down Wagers-A double down wager is made by making an addtional bet equal to or less than your original wager. The dealer then gives you only one card. You may double down on any first two cards.

Splitting Cards-you may split any pair. To split a pair you must match your orginal bet. Split cards are dealt face up. You may split up to three times. However, you may only split Aces once. You cannot double down after you have a split.
