How long does the review process take? Our event is within two weeks and we need an immediate turnaround!
FIRST, PLEASE DON'T PANIC AND GET FRUSTRATED! The state realizes that we are ALL on a learning curve with the new forms and review process. As long as we can show that we are complying as fully and quickly as we can, they will work with us and treat each review on a case-by-case basis. The turnaround time depends on each individual organization. We will do whatever we can to help expedite the process by working with you and helping answer any questions that you may have. The only thing we ask in return is that you gather the most complete materials requested in as timely manner as possible. If you have trouble obtaining an item requested, please let us know.
In the case in which we have less than one month turnaround time, more than likely what will happen is you will not be issued a license number for your casino night (due to lack of time), rather, the LGCCC, once it deems your application has satisfied their review process, will issue you an AUTHORIZATION LETTER stating on their letterhead that your event is recognized as legal.
Once you receive either your license or your "AUTHORIZATION LETTER," you must post either in a conspicuous location (behind your Registration Table) the day of your event.
The facility we are holding our casino night has a liquor license and they won't sign a contract with us until we provide them with our Casino Night License Number. What do we do?
The LGCCC has recognized Casino Nights and Nights at the Track as legal forms of Games of Chance, thus the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Commission has authorized the conduct of Casino Nights on premises that are licensed to serve liquor.
In the meantime, your Raffle Equipment Supplier (in this case, Tumbling Dice) will fill out what is called a Certification Form 13. Once Tumbling Dice completes the Form 13 (and we get it notarized) we will send it to you so that you may attach it to your "Casino Night Disclosure Form."
What if we are applying for a temporary, one-day liquor license? Do we need a permit from the ABC?
Yes. Once you receive the license number from the LGCCC, contact the ABC ((609) 984-2830 and ask for Charlotte Coxen, who issues the permits) and let her know you have received your number. They will take your number and issue you a temporary one-day liquor license. ***You must post this liquor permit where you are serving liquor on the day of the event!
**  If you have other questions that were not answered above please call our office so that we may further assist you in this process.  Our phone number is: (609) 801-0910.
